Led Floodlights

 LED floodlights are a great lighting solution for outdoors and are a great way of casting light upon certain features of a building or garden.  We have all seen floodlights in use at some stage, whether it is around the base of a dramatic castle to illuminate it at night and or simply underneath a tree or sign.  Indeed some floodlighting is just used to illuminate an area in general rather than just highlighting a building or feature and it is also commonly used to provide footpath lighting, car park lighting and more.

LED floodlights are now opted for over the old fluorescent and incandescent floodlights because of a couple of main reasons.  The first is that their energy saving is second to none.  They use far less energy and as these are often very powerful bulbs that use a lot of energy in the first place, this can make a big difference.  LED Floodlights are often left on for around 12 hours per day (in other words, all night), 7 days a week, all year round.  With high power bulbs and a number of LED floodlights used all around a large area, whether it be a property, garden, playing field or anything else, energy can be used in huge quantities and can really add up to some serious energy bills.  Putting money aside, this is also harmful for the environment.  Ever single watt of power that is used to power these lights comes from a power station and there is a good chance that power station is burning fossil fuels to provide that power.  That means the release of carbon dioxide into the power which is a gas that is responsible for climate change, something that we are currently all trying to stop.  This means that using less power will lessen this harm inflicted on the environment.

LED floodlights can use as little as 10% of the power that the normal floodlights use.  This means an instant 90% saving on what can be a huge energy bill.  That means some very serious savings indeed that really add up day after day, year after year.  The best thing of all is that LED floodlights are capable of being just as bright as normal floodlights and you will easily find a full range of different brightness’s and colour temperatures to match your needs.  If you are looking for something quite soft, then you can opt as low as just 900 lumens or possibly even less, but on the flip side if you are looking for some really bright illumination then you will easily be able to find LED floodlights that have the same power as some of the brightest incandescent and neon floodlights, such as up to 7500 lumens or even more.

Here is the big crux  of the matter, getting 7500 lumens of light from an LED floodlight will use up just 80 watts of power which is actually less power than many single incandescent bulbs that some people would use to light up a single small room indoors.  The equivalent amount of light would take around 800 watts or even more when using traditional floodlights.  These figures make the savings incredibly clear.
