The use of transformers is inevitable, when you use luminous means with low voltage.
This method offers certainly clear advantages, if it should come once to an electric shock, then this is substantially safer to work with low voltage than with high voltage. It also may be easy to set upevery system which works with low-voltage, however with high voltage, you should instruct an expert, to meet regulations and insurance coverage in case of damage or accident.
Of course there are also power-saving LED luminous means for low-voltage and suitable transformers, either models for AC voltage or DC voltage - these transformers need no least load and are perfectly suitable for LEDs.
